Moses M. Ornelas, 77, of Pacific, passed away on May 29, 2018 in Washington. Mr. Ornelas, son of the late Epifanio Ornelas and his wife Guadalupe Garcia, was born March 30, 1941 in Merced, CA. Moses was united in marriage to Karen Chase in 1976, in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
He was a retired Supervisor from the Chrysler Corp. Moses loved to fish. He inspired his grandson, Dakota, to fish from the age of 2 years old. He was actively involved the lives of is grandchildren, Carlota and Dakota, as they grew over the years. Moses enjoyed his traveling around the country. He has encountered many people in his life whom he has impacted with his character and words. Many describe him as a true gentleman, kind, charming and willing to help at any time amongst many other descriptions. He had a tendency to speak few words, but the words he spoke were the perfect words to say. Moses was well respected by co-workers, friends, family, and people he met in the community.
Another important aspect of his life was his military family. He served in the Army from 1966-1970 in Vietnam. He attended military reunions yearly. His troop was 4th BN 23rd INF 25th DIV CU-CHU.
Mr. Ornelas was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen Ornelas; brother, David Ornelas and sister, Hilda Ornelas.
Among his survivors are one daughter, Melana Rambo of Pacific; mother-in-law, Chrystal Eudine Chase of Greentown, IN; three sisters, Beatrice Hancher of Cookeville, TN, Bernice Schreiber of Maricopa, AZ, and Virginia Smyre of San Antonio, TX; Grandchildren, Dakota and Carlota Ornelas; Great-grandchild, Annsley Faith Ornelas.
A Memorial Service will be held on July 7, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Life Stream Church in Washington, MO where he will receive full Military Honors.
