Anna Mae Hassler,84, of Washington, passed away on September 13, 2018 in Washington. Mrs. Hassler was born on May 6, 1934 in Villa Ridge to Lewis Ham and his wife Frances NEE Brune. Anna Mae received her education from St. John’s Gildehaus School. On June 7, 1952, she was united in marriage to Orville “Shorty” Hassler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Shorty Hassler; son, Larry Hassler; daughter, Sharon Barnett, and three grandchildren, Jeremy Klott, Vanessa Straatmann, and Cody Hassler.
Among her survivors are eight children, Connie Stewart and husband Larry of Union, Theresa Wheeler and husband Terry of Washington, Carol Henrick and husband Richard of Wildwood, Cindy Straatmann and husband Tim of Labadie, Dee Dee Hassler of Washington, Wayne Hassler of Washington, Jeanie Hassler of Washington, and John Hassler of Villa Ridge; sister, Phil Buhr of Washington; brother, Pete Ham and wife Shirley of Washington; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 8-9:30 A.M. at Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 A.M. at St. John’s Gildehaus Church. Memorials are to the St John’s Gildehaus Church or the Franklin County Humane Society.
